Sue Harper - Lay Member for Patient and Public Involvement

Sue has a background in HR having headed the function with two public sector organisations in the West Midlands. She subsequently set up her own HR consultancy working with the NHS, Police forces across England and the Home Office and became an expert advisor on equal pay with ACAS.

More recently Sue has worked in the community with a national charity and has become a Justice of the Peace (J.P.) sitting on the bench in South Staffordshire. Sue is determined to ensure that her work and life experience is now used to maintain a safe and effective health service with improved patient experiences. She is striving to encourage local people take a more active part in shaping local health services and to this end she is secretary of her own practice’s patient participation group.

Sue joined Stafford and Surrounds CCG in August 2015 as a non statutory Lay Member. In 2016 she became Lay Member for Patient and Public Engagement and now chairs the Communications and Engagement Committee, HR and OD (Human Resources and Organisational Development) Committee and is a member of the Primary Care Committee.
